The Burton US Open ROCKS!
The Burton US Open ROCKS!

Mort the Moose and I have been practicing our snowboarding. We learned to snowboard and wrote it all down in our newest book, Eli and Mort Learn to Snowboard 1, 2, 3 We did it! Check it out here. It is a perfect way for any kid to get psyched on his upcoming snowboard lesson and for Mort and me, it’s a great reminder of what we learned in our lesson with our awesome snowboard instructor Remi.

Now we are at the Burton US Open #BurtonUSOpen and we get to watch the best of the best compete on Vail Mountain #Vailmountain. It is a dream come true. Mort told me one day that he is going to be the youngest moose EVER to be in the Burton US Open. I told him as long as he practices real hard he can do anything.

We hope to see everyone out there!

I almost forgot, check out our snowboarding video here, i even do a 360!

Have an Epic Adventure!

Eli and Mort the Moose

The First Learn to Snowboard Book for Kids!

Hi this is Eli! Mort the Moose and I are totally rocking out! Today we received our, Eli and Mort Learn to Snowboard, 1, 2, 3, We Did It!  book in the mail!

I don’t want to brag, but it’s so cool! In the book Mort and I take a snowboard lesson with a 1, 2, 3 twist.  Oh my, did we shred it!

It was the coolest day ever with our snowboard instructor Remi.  She taught us everything, like skating and gliding on the snowboard.  We even learned how to get off the chair lift by ourselves!

Mort fell down a couple of times, but he got right up again.  I told him, “You got this Mort!” And 1, 2, 3, he crushed it!

If you need a warm-up before your lesson or a reminder of everything you learned, this book is for you. Get it now!

We can’t wait to see you on our next adventure in Aspen Snowmass!

Vail Valley Partnership Small Business of the Year!

Mort and I are so PSYCHED that Resort Books won the Small Business of the Year award! We love the Vail Valley and want to thank the Vail Valley Partnership. The VVP’s team are so nice and so helpful!

We were up against some crazy competition – Alpine Arts Center and Malen Yantis Public Relations. And really, these are our friends!  Lots of kids from Alpine Arts Center illustrated backgrounds for Eli and Mort’s Epic Adventures Beaver Creek and Vail…Lauren even let us hold a call for illustrators at the art center!

We love Kristen Yantis. Mort and I have talked to her about how to get more kids outside and experiencing action and adventure! She is super nice. Mort and I were a bit nervous meeting with a superstar of the PR world!

VVP

This was one of the BEST DAYS of our lives. Mort and I could not attend the awards ceremony. We were busy working on our next books, Eli and Mort’s Epic Adventures Aspen and Eli and Mort Learn to Snowboard. But Ken and Elyssa did a great job thanking everyone on our behalf.

It’s important to think local! We couldn’t have done it all without the great people we have met along the way on our epic adventures. So thank you, Steamboat, Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge. Special thanks to all of the stores that sell our books and Mort the Moose stuffed toys!

We will be at the markets in each of these AWESOME mountain towns over the summer, so please come visit us!

Yeehaw! Eli and Mort’s Epic Adventures Steamboat is Here

Mort and I couldn’t wait to show you our new book!  It’s all about the adventure we had in Steamboat Springs, CO.

The real book is coming, but here is a preview that you can flip through with your parents!

Mort and I had so much fun on our adventure in Steamboat. We don’t want to tell you EVERYTHING, but what I will say is that we took selfies with Olympians, met real Olympians and relaxed with our stepmom, dad and li’l sis in Strawberry Park hot springs!

Did you know there are more winter Olympians from Steamboat than any other town in North America? My stepmom told us there must be something in the water. So Mort and I are pretty sure, because if you drink lots of it, you could POSSIBLY become an Olympian too.

Check out the flipbook below!

Then, save the date for our official launch in Steamboat Springs on December 4th at The Depot from 5 to 7pm. The children of Steamboat Springs that illustrated the book will be there signing the books and their art work will be on display.  Mort and I can’t wait to see them all again!

Get Eli and Mort’s Epic Adventures Steamboat on Amazon.

Hey Mort! It’s Time for the Winter Carnival in Steamboat
Hey Mort! It’s Time for the Winter Carnival in Steamboat

It’s time for the Winter Carnival in Steamboat Springs!  Mort and I are so excited.  We went last year and we can’t wait!  There are so many things we can’t wait to do.

I’ve been dreaming about the Soda Pop Slalom, Skijoring and all of the awesome winter activities that happen down Lincoln Avenue, on Mount Werner and on Howelsen Hill!

Slalom

Everything starts on Wednesday, but Mort and I can’t get there until Friday night.

I think the first event we are going to go to is the Tubing Party on Friday night. Zooming down Howelsen Hill under the lights is going to be super fun.  My Dad can’t wait to take us there.

On Saturday, there are so many street events.  Mort and I are going to get our badge for participation. Apparently if you don’t you have to push a peanut down Lincoln Avenue with your nose.  Mort thought that might be fun given his nose is extra large and red.  But I’d rather be in the racing with everyone in the snow! My Dad told us there are 400 tons of snow on Lincoln Avenue for all of the events.

We get to race behind horses, catch big air over jumps and be in a parade.  I’ve got my skis and my cowboy hat already. Check out how fast you go behind a horse! Yahoo! Mort went pretty fast last year. I think I was faster.

Saturday night we are going to ski down with lights on Howelsen Hill. We will do more racing on Sunday.

Come see Mort and I.  We can’t wait to meet you and more importantly, have some winter fun!
